Workshops 2010 - Technical and musical training

L'Art du Piano directed by Pierre Tran offers a new way of teaching the piano, using an approach which places understanding of the human being at the centre of the musical creative process.

These workshops aim to allow the students to understand and master the necessary techniques in order to use the piano, their tool.

These intensive workshops are suitable for pianists of all levels and all ages.
Each workshop is strictly limited to four participants.
The duration of each workshop lasts for 5 days (with one hour and forty five minutes of individual session per day).
Four lectures per week

Different points will be dealt with during these courses amongst which :
- A new body posture linked to the ergonomic cushion
- Relaxation and breathing at the piano
- Awareness of the character of sound
- Thorough analysis of the works studied
- Technique of the pianist's movements linked to the search for sound quality
- The making of the piano and its history (evening lecturer)
- Overall competence to learn all aspects of the Art of the Piano

Teaching aid - The latest model of the Bechstein D 280, entirely thought over, setting up a new standard in the world of concert pianos - An innovative and patended ergonomic cushion is at student's disposal for the courses, allowing to experience a new seating position. - Two first grade German pianos (C.
